Why was Abraham strong in faith?
Romans 4:19And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sarah’s womb:
20He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; <— clue!
21And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.
In the AMP is uses the words “gave praise and glory to God”.
Why was he strong? He kept praising God, he kept the good works of God top of mind. He did not look one way or the other, he only focused on what God had said, and he did this through praise.
One of the major keys to getting in the right mindset is to praise God for all the good he has done for you and others. Where do you think so many of Davids Psalms came from?
If tough things hit you today, give God praise and glory for the GOOD he has done!
Taken from my journal of 2008
He stood in faith and that made him righteous, I am made righteous by what Jesus did for me.
How do I stand in faith like Abraham did? How do I find my bridge from here to there?
Why is a smile seem hard to come by right now? Am I working to make my own way instead of God? Yes! This is the problem, I must let God be God in my life and not me.
Now I started to hear from God…
So I have the answer! Do what is at hand, trust me for the rest.
Now I had heard from God and went on with more questions.
Is it lack of faith that I wonder what is next? Am I looking at what I can see only? It seems so foolish to just work on what I see and not plan for the future. How do I answer these wonderings on the inside? What do I need to do to build my faith? Hear more of your Word? Act on what I already know?
How do I hear your Word?
He answered, Time every morning! <— clue!
Now I was on a roll, I continued to ask more questions with an open heart to what He was saying.
How should I look for a job?
Could I have seen it already and am not seeing it?
One last question from this entry,
What can I use to understand when the right opportunity come?
- Better than expected
- Things fall into place
- Must be in the right mindset
- Must be open to hear
- Must ask and ask
