Understanding my path, my story

Here is a fairly recent entry from my “offline” journal so you can see the flow and how it works for me.

Journal Entry

Understanding My Path

Where to start? I have bought some window cleaning tools and a book, yet I do not have, nor have had any orders since last year.

Have I missed God? This not the question, a better question is how have I missed God? I have not felt it was the end solution to my business goals but oh to feel like I am on the right track.

However this does bring me to why I am typing this instead of writing in my paper journal, the answer? I want to improve my typing skills. I really like the idea of making money by helping others.

In 2008 when I left the Bank I was hungry to help people it was not a big deal what I was paid because I only received $10 hourly so as long as I was helping I was OK with low pay.

But I forgot this serving others first attitude and started getting distracted by the amount my own brother was being paid for the same job $20 hourly! I was so mad I was fighting back tears as I was hauling shingles!

Then I made an attitude change and God showed me how to just work for Him and that He was my source not my hourly rate. Shortly after that I was put up to $15hr!

I would like to say I kept a good attitude from that point on but that is not true. I found myself in tough times early 2010 and then I realized I was loosing my joy because I was so focused on the hourly rate again. Not because others where getting more, but getting the job done in enough time to keep my rate up where it should be -by this time $20hr, funny how I was doing so much better but still had to keep my attitude in check. Why? I had left off God being my source and working for the joy of helping others. It really is fun to fix the problems in people’s homes and then get paid for it. Whereas at the Bank I felt I was taking their hard earned after tax income to just make the company rich -the products we sold them or we would lose our job paid only: $1 or $.25 per sale and the company was getting much more.

More on the feeling I had after the Bank. I felt the Bank was…

More to come :)

Hope you enjoyed this background info, I will finish this story soon.
