Journaling God’s Voice

Journaling to hear the voice of Jesus is so natural you really have to let the noise in to miss it. Having said that I want to lay out some things I have found must be in place to hear from God.

Let’s talk about some simple ways to know you are hearing from God and not just hearing “voices” in your head.

God’s Word must be a foundation to everything you hear

So many times what Jesus has told me lines up with a verse I already know. This only makes sense. There is so much scripture but what if you know just the one that applied to your situation that day, would that be good? I think so.

It will take faith to hear

It takes faith to please God. And it will take faith to keep hearing from God. This is not some mystery or magic formula though, it is as simple as setting aside 15 minutes and journaling with expectation of hearing God. That is faith and God will honor it.

It will take faith to act on what you heard

This should be easy to understand after the above topic, and yet this is a higher step of faith to act. So in hearing from God if it does not take faith to act you probably didn’t hear this from God but your own thinking.

With this note. As a born again person your spirit is merged with The Spirit of God, so some things may seem like you came up with them but in fact they are from God.

There is probably someone preaching what you are hearing

This is one of the most enjoyable things that happen to me. I will be hearing something and then days or weeks later I will hear someone preach it. What a way to know you are hearing from God!
