A Strong Spirit Will Sustain You

The following is from Nov 29th 2012. I am working on finding money to pay the bills. Handyman work tends to lean off a little through the Winter, so money was tight.

In fact this Winter I went 3 months without any real work to do. Yet somehow we did not go hungry and we did not get kicked out of our house. This amazes me.

What do I do Jesus? How do I find the business?

A strong Spirit will sustain you. Continue to build your spirit and you will know what to do.

You have too many things on the table again so I am competing with a lot of noise.

What about Mark’s book on dreams?

Don’t worry about that… I mean don’t worry. I will take care of that in due time.

How do I build up a strong spirit?

Well time in my Word. Time speaking my Word. Rest and soaking. You must keep building up what you know, The Truth in your life.

Have I ever left you without? Stop looking at what is in your hands, and get excited about what I am doing.

Father,  am I to pursue more handyman work?

Chip, it will be all right. Just keep moving forward in faith doing what is in your hand to do.

Isn’t this what I told you years ago when you started to journal? I told you to do what is at hand to do. That directive has not changed.

As I brought the above over into this blog it is Winter again. I am still doing handyman work but I have several other new business things going on as well. Are they paying the bills…?

What I want to bring out is that God will meet you where you are right now. He is not out to put you down for any mistake, He is ready to help you overcome them!

So the difficult thing is perhaps hearing God in tough times. In fact there are so many things that can make your thought life clouded and full of noise. So blaming stacks of bills is not a good reason to not hear from God.

In fact this is 180 degrees off of the truth. I have found the tougher the times the more willing I am to get out-of-the-way and listen.

This is my challenge to you and me both, making this such a practice that in the best of times I still get out-of-the-way and listen.

If you want to know more about a strong spirit please read Proverbs chapter 18.

What have you found works best for keeping up a consistent time with God?
